Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been painting?

All my life! Professionally exhibiting and selling my work since the 1970's. I drew barns, train stations, and Victorian houses before I focused on lighthouses.

Why lighthouses?

In the 1980's and 1990's my family did a lot of boating and I became fascinated by these often desolate and very unique structures. The more I read about them and the more lights I saw, the more I became hooked.

Have you visited all the lighthouses in your pictures?

I've personally gone and photographed about 90% of all the lights featured in my prints. As I have always said, "Traveling is an added bonus to a career I already love!"

What medium do you work in?

I use a combination of pen and ink with watercolor wash on top of a pencil sketch.

Where can I find your work?

Generally, you can find my things in galleries and shops near the coast, gulf or Great Lakes shores. If you live near a large city, I may be able to give you a lead, if you email me with some location info. My website has all the items I currently have available and you can order from there.
