This station remains one of my personal favorites. It is the most complete original station I've seen in the US. The attractive reddish/orange brick tower, keepers houses, oil house, and other out buildings on the complex, really give a feel for what a keepers life was like back in 1887. A glass front building was built to showcase the original first order Fresnel lens that rotates inside and casts rainbow beams of light throughout the building. Displays include keepers uniforms, supplies, books, furniture, historic papers, and photos. This should be a destination for any really serious lighthouse fan.
